Profile of the economic landscape of New Jersey's Meadowlands region.

From 2006 to 2007, the Heldrich Center worked with the Meadowlands New Jersey Chamber of Commerce to produce a profile of the economic landscape of the Meadowlands region based on an analysis of currently available data and interviews with key stakeholders. The Heldrich Center identified key trends in the regional economy and key industries that drive the region’s economy. The Heldrich Center also profiled the characteristics of the regional workforce and identified the region’s key education and training resources.

From 2007 to 2008, the Heldrich Center again worked with the Meadowlands region to perform research and analysis that supported the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and the Meadowlands Regional Chamber in their efforts to develop economic growth strategies for the region. The Heldrich Center identified an economic profile for the region and provided research on trends affecting key industry sectors. The Heldrich Center analyzed existing employment and training data, conducted interviews and focus groups with employers, and reviewed existing research on economic growth strategies used in other states to understand developing trends and promising strategies in industry sectors of interest to the Meadowlands region.
