Evaluation of New Jersey Parent Education Information Resource Centers
Evaluation of the effects of programs intended to increase parental involvement in New Jersey’s low-income schools.
The Heldrich Center conducted a five-year project to evaluate the effect of programs intended to increase parental involvement in New Jersey’s low-income schools. The research team employed a diverse array of methodologies, including site visits to study school districts, analysis of program data, telephone surveys of parents, and surveys of district and school personnel, to determine how well the programs have improved parental involvement as well as how the programs might be strengthened. In addition, Heldrich Center researchers used a quasi-experimental design to estimate the effect of the EPIC Ready, Set, Read curriculum on parental involvement and student academic achievement.
