The Heldrich Center is conducting an in-depth long-term impact evaluation of the Inclusive Healthy Community (IHC) Grant Program. The purpose of the study is to assess the long-term impacts of former grantees’ participation in the IHC Grant Program. Impacts are defined across three key domains: (1) grantees’ adoption and continuation of programs or processes that are inclusive of people with disabilities as part of efforts to plan and create healthy communities; (2) grantees’ implementation and maintenance of sustainable strategies to deliver the benefits of healthy communities to people with disabilities; and (3) grantees’ advancement of sustainable policy, systems, and environmental change that address pre-existing physical, environmental, social, and economic challenges that prevent people with disabilities from having full access to opportunities that support health and well-being. The Heldrich Center’s evaluation of the IHC program’s long-term impacts will provide evidence to guide future programmatic, operational, and strategic decisions for the grant program and future cohorts of grantees.
