Carl Van Horn was interviewed for recent stories in The New York Times and USA Today.

Carl Van Horn was recently interviewed for a New York Times story titled, Federal Unemployment Aid Is Now a Political Lightning Rod. He discussed patterns of long-term unemployment, employers’ perceptions of long-term unemployed workers, as well as potential consequences of prematurely ending unemployment benefits.

He was also interviewed for a USA Today story titled, A Stigma No Longer? Companies Hire More Long-term Unemployed as they Struggle with Worker Shortages. He addressed the stigma of long-term unemployment, employers’ concerns about workers’ skills, and labor shortages and employers’ demand for workers.

Van Horn is Director of the Heldrich Center and Distinguished Professor of Public Policy at Rutgers University.
