The Heldrich Center is conducting a process evaluation of Middlesex County’s current healthcare workforce development plans and programs and is developing a strategic plan for the development and implementation of innovative workforce development initiatives. The rapid expansion of Middlesex County’s healthcare sector and job opportunities will require a significant increase in skilled workers. Middlesex County is proactive in its pursuits of ensuring that the healthcare workforce is prepared to meet the rising demand for talent that will continue to increase in the coming years due to the expansion of the healthcare industry in the county, specifically with the development of the Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art cancer hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. The Heldrich Center is conducting a series of research and technical assistance activities, including a landscape assessment of the healthcare workforce in Middlesex County and a series of formative evaluations of the RWJBarnabas Health Workforce Partnership Project workgroup subprojects.
