Project

Exploring Postsecondary and Workforce Outcomes of CTE Graduates

January 2025

This project analyzes data from the New Jersey Statewide Data System to understand how career and technical education (CTE) completers from the classes of 2014 and 2015 transition into postsecondary education and the workforce. It examines whether students in specific career clusters are more likely to enroll in college, enter the workforce, pursue college and work simultaneously, or disengage entirely. It also analyzes workforce outcomes to determine whether completers from certain clusters are more likely to secure stable employment, work in an industry aligned with their career cluster, or earn higher wages. By studying the 2014 and 2015 cohorts separately, researchers will identify trends and differences between the two graduating classes. The goal is to deliver actionable insights for effective CTE policies and programs via descriptive and inferential analyses of participant success.
