The Heldrich Center is conducting research for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Comprehensive Climate Action Plan. The Heldrich Center has been engaged by the New Jersey Climate Change Resource Center to assist with the development of a workforce planning analysis for inclusion in the action plan. The workforce planning analysis will be developed in relation to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s guidance and resources for the action plan under the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant program. The Heldrich Center’s workforce planning analysis will include an examination of the labor market of the green economy in New Jersey to better understand the potential impact of the state’s planned climate investments and the creation of an inventory of education and training programs in alignment with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s priority areas. The workforce planning analysis will offer workforce development strategies to support the state’s goals of creating a robust education, training, and employment ecosystem for New Jersey’s burgeoning green economy.
