He earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and Master’s degrees from Washington University and Georgia State University. He led major initiatives including Investing in America’s Workforce and Workforce Realigned. He also led the Fed’s contributions to the Rework America Alliance and the Talent Finance Innovation Network. He also served as an officer of the bank and applied innovations in economic mobility in the bank. </p> <p>Andreason’s work focuses on state and regional dynamics of opportunity and economic development and innovative workforce solutions. He publishes widely on workforce innovations and labor market trends, including analysis of opportunity occupations, or middle-skill jobs that pay high wages. He is the editor of <em>Workforce Realigned, Investing in America’s Workforce, Developing Career-Based Training, </em>and <em>Models for Labor Market Intermediaries</em>.</p> <p>Previously, Andreason was a research associate at the Penn Institute for Urban Research at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn IUR), where he is now a Fellow. There, he helped develop a set of indicators of sustainable communities for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funded by the Ford Foundation. He was a fellow of the Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences and a Lincoln Institute of Land Policy C. Lowell Harris fellow. Previously, he led two nonprofit organizations focused on economic revitalization in central Virginia and worked for the Pew Partnership for Civic Change.</p> <p>He is a reviewer for several academic journals and publications. Andreason has taught at Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Pennsylvania. Dennis’ 33 year career at Verizon and its predecessor companies challenged him with numerous assignments and responsibilities across many organizations. Outside of Verizon, Dennis has been influential in initiating positive growth within New Jersey’s business sector. He has been active in strengthening the state’s workforce system as chairman of New Jersey’s State Employment and Training Commission. He served as co-chairman on Gov. Chris Christie’s 2009 Economic Development Transition Team, which led to the formation of Choose New Jersey, with Dennis as founding chairman.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p> <p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>He is a graduate of the West Virginia University Institute of Technology, with a B.S. in mathematics.
