Project Management of the State of New Jersey’s State Longitudinal Data Systems Initiative

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

In 2015, the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education engaged the Heldrich Center to provide data consultation and project management assistance to the state in managing the grant responsibilities and activities of the State Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDS) project. The State of New Jersey was awarded a grant in 2012 from the U.S. Department of Education to strengthen its collaborative efforts by linking the various education sectors to form a more seamless view of the state’s P-20W landscape. State resources are being used to establish an advisory council, expand SLDS to house new postsecondary and workforce data, create a shared data resource within state government, expand the state’s higher education data collections, and conduct research using the data in the new data warehouse.
