Evaluation of NJ-PREP Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) Grant at Bergen Community College

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

The Heldrich Center is collaborating with the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations to evaluate the New Jersey Health Professionals Pathways to Regional Excellence Program (NJ-PREP) Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant that has been awarded to Bergen Community College from the U.S. Department of Labor. NJ-PREP builds on previous Bergen-led projects related to healthcare job training and involves partnerships with eleven NJ-based community colleges, local workforce investment boards, hospitals, and commercial employers as part of the NJ-PREP consortium. The Center, from 2015-2017, is assisting NJ-PREP staff to develop an Employment Scorecard that will provide information about the outcomes of program completers and be used within the program to improve student career advising. The scorecard information will also allow program staff at multiple partner colleges to share outcome data of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act-eligible vocation training programs in New Jersey. In addition, the Center will be conducting a student outcomes analysis, examining the extent to which students successfully advance through career pathways and the variation across program areas and colleges.
