Aaron R. Fichtner, Ph.D., Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, will receive the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy’s Dean’s Medal of Merit Award at the school’s annual alumni awards celebration. The ceremony will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20 at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University.
Dr. Fichtner has been with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development since 2010, most recently serving as Deputy Commissioner. Before joining the department, Dr. Fichtner was the Director of Research and Evaluation at the Heldrich Center for Workforce Development.
Dr. Fichtner earned a Ph.D. in Planning and Public Policy from Rutgers University, a Master’s degree in City Planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a B.A. in History from Vassar College.
